McLEANSBORO —
The Hamilton County High School Lady Foxes and Foxes track teams made their debut on their new all-weather track April 14 by winning a triangular meet with Eldorado and Norris City-Omaha-Enfield.
The Lady Foxes won their meet with 68 points, the Lady Eagles of Eldorado finished second with 55 points and NCOE finished third with 29 points, according to information from coach Roger Lee.
Kelci Thomas was a double-winner for the Lady Foxes in the 3200-meter run and 400-meter dash.
Emily Lueke was the first Lady Fox in school history to compete in the pole vault; she won the event with a height of 5 feet, 9 inches.
The Foxes scored 93 points to take first place, while second place went to Eldorado with 60 points and the Cardinals of NCOE were third with 18 points.
Shane Williams scored 14 of the Foxes’ points with a first-place finish in the 400 and second-place finishes in the 100, long jump and triple jump.
Teammate Austin Hybbert was a double-winner in the 300 hurdles and high jump.
Jeff Stewart won the discus for the Foxes with a personal-best throw of 149-0.
Stewart also competed recently in the Benton Spring Fling, taking first place in the shot put with a throw of 48-0 and second place in the discus with a 148-9.
