To the editor:
I want to express my appreciation to Twigg Township and especially to Randy Price for a job well done.
My husband and I have lived southwest of Dale for more than 30 years, and anytime we had a halfway decent rain, you could figure the water would be over the road south of road marker 1000, especially near the bridges.
In the past, I’ve had water run through my garage like a small river and driven through water so deep that it seeped into my car, all because the ditches were full and the water had nowhere to go.
July 21, there was a pretty heavy downpour in the Dale area. I drove through water over the highway north of Dale, and the Dale Blacktop had water halfway over it in places.
I figured I would have to backtrack around by Broughton in order to get home, as I and so many others have done over the years.
Imagine my surprise when I turned south at road marker 1000 and drove all the way home. The road was clear and the water was actually in the ditches.
So, thank you, and keep up the good work.
