To the editor,
I drove from Tennessee to McLeansboro to attend my 45th class reunion. The images along the way brought memories of my days growing up in this terrific small town with talented, hard-working and caring classmates.
My thoughts went to the many people and activities which made me proud, happy and thankful.
Images of the square, Dickerson’s, basketball, band, fields of soybeans and corn, 25-cent-a-gallon gas, Baptist Hill, friends, parents who cared, Mr. Nation, Ms. Schwarm, Mr. Hallum, Mr. Foster, Ms. Arnett, fight song, green and white, roller skating, attempts at ice skating, South Sycamore Street, the library, teased hair, Cardinals baseball, Pep Club, Pep Bus, Foxes, friends — all made me smile.
Thanks to those who organized our reunion and thanks to all who came and thanks for the memories, McLeansboro Township High School.
