Lucille F. (Bond) Myers

Lucille F. (Bond) Myers went to be with her Lord on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010.

She was born at home in Hamilton County to Arthur C. and Eliza B. (Wageneck) Bond on Dec. 2, 1913.

Lucille married Thomas E. Myers in Carmi and moved to Peoria, where she lived for 67 years. She moved to The Carolina House in Pinehurst, N.C., in 2001 and lived at Kingswood for three months.

She was a homemaker and was very active in the First Methodist Church until her move.

Lucille enjoyed most sports on television, particularly the St. Louis Cardinals and the Bradley Braves basketball teams.

While living in North Carolina, she attended Pinehurst UMC, participated in the Knitting Group and was a charter member of the UMW.

Lucille is survived by her daughters, Dita and husband Ron McGaughey of West End, N.C., and Nita Randolph of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren, Joel McGaughey, Ronalee Tefft, Todd Randolph and Shari Stone; six great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob McGaughey, Caitlin Tefft, Danielle Simmons and Jenna and Nicholas Randolph; five nieces, Eloise Sauers of Peoria, Brenda Cullins of Wauchula, Fla., and Linda VanWinkle, Jackie (Bond) Frey and Joan (Bond) Cox, all of McLeansboro; one nephew, Kenneth Bond of Tempe, Ariz.; and one great-niece, Shirley Moss of McLeansboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Eliza Bond; husband Thomas; brothers Cecil M. and Ernie D. Bond; one nephew, Billy Bond; and one son-in-law, Jack Randolph.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club or a charity of your choice in her name.

Memorial services will held at a later date at Pinehurst UMC under the direction of Boles Funeral Home, Pinehurst, N.C.

Services will be held at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, on Saturday, Feb. 27. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 27, with the funeral service held at 11 a.m. that day; the Rev. Jim Peak will officiate the service.

Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, McLeansboro.

Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, is in charge of local arrangements.
