McLEANSBORO —
John Robert Sutton, 57, of McLeansboro, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
Mr. Sutton was a maintenance technician employed by Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
He was born in Evansville, Ind., on Oct. 11, 1952, a son of Clifford R. and Margaret J. (Phipps) Sutton.
Funeral services were Friday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Steve Schultz officiating.
Burial was at Koontz Cemetery in Fairfield, with graveside military rites accorded by American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro.
John is survived by his mother, Margaret Sutton of McLeansboro; three sons, Dustin Sutton of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Joseph R. Sutton and wife Jill of McLeansboro and Jeffrey A. Sutton and wife Betheny of McLeansboro; a brother, Steve Sutton and wife Tarri of McLeansboro; and four grandchildren, Cole, Keaton, Talan and Nash Sutton, all of McLeansboro.
John served in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post 106.
He loved playing pool and chess and he loved sports.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Loretta.
Arrangements for John Sutton were under the direction of Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
