McLEANSBORO — One of three men charged with burglarizing a local residence earlier this year has received a three-year prison sentence.
Brandon L. Stallings, 24, of the 700 block of South Hancock Street, was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to an amended charge of burglary, a Class 2 felony, according to Hamilton County Circuit Court records.
Stallings and two other men — Allen B. Rood, 21, of the 500 block of West Moore Street, and Peter A. Rutledge, no age or address listed — were charged with entering the residence of Brittany M. Young at 604 N. Harris St. with intent to commit a theft, court records stated. The cases against Rood and Rutledge are still pending.
Young reported that the men broke into her home and stole a television, a court document stated. Stallings admitted to throwing a television out of a car in an alley, and police later recovered the television, the document stated.
Stallings also admitted to being at the Harris Street residence but said he remained outside, the document stated.
Rood has pleaded not guilty to residential burglary. Court records indicate he failed to appear at a pretrial hearing May 7, and the hearing was rescheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 6.
There is a warrant outstanding for Rutledge’s arrest, records indicated.
Stallings’ sentence is to run concurrently with a four-year sentence handed down in White County. He was on probation for aggravated battery in a 2008 case, and his probation was revoked in April, online court records indicated.
