Raising $$ for school track facility
McLEANSBORO — The second annual Race to the Finish fundraiser was held Saturday night at Hamilton County High School.
The event, which raised funds to improve the track facility at the high school, included a dinner, style show and silent and youth auctions. Members of the girls track team modeled clothing for the style show; members of both the boys and girls track teams participated in the youth auction, during which high bidders obtained four hours of work from youth in exchange for their bid/donation.
The Youth Auction raised almost $1,000, with athlete Jeff Stewart attracting the top bid — $110.
A new all-weather running track is in place at the school, and a volunteer committee continues its work to complete construction of sidewalk at the facility and purchase new equipment for the track program.
